Cho Oyu Expedition (8201m.)

Cho Oyu ExpeditionMountain Cho Oyu is in the boarder of Tibet and Nepal. It is just on west of mt. Everest. Mt. Cho Oyu is technically easy and straight forward. It can be easily climbed without any danger. So, Visit to Tibet travel offers you an excellent choice for you all to come and join this expedition with us.

Cho Oyu expedition start from Kathmandu, we will proceed to Nepal-tibet boarder, Kodari- cross the friendship bridge.Our Tibetan guide will meet us at the friendship bridge. We will reach at first town Zangmu. We have to fall in queue for the boarder custom and immigration. We then head to Nyalam where we spend two days to acclimatize with high altitude. On the day we rest we go for day hike in the hill which helps us to stay fit with altitude. We then head to old Tingri, Rongbuk and start trek. We finally head to Base camp and Summit. After we finish our Cho Oyu Expedtion we come back to Kathmandu to celebrate the ceremony of success climb.

Mt. Cho Oyu stand between the Nepal – Tibet border and to the west of Mt. Everest, Visit to Tibet travel offer an excellent choice for all mountaineers alike wishing to climb their first 8,000 and over meter peak in the world. The Mountain is technically straight forward climb with a minimum danger and accessibility easy.

Cho oyu Expedition start from Kathmandu, where our visas for Tibet has to be processed. Drive along the Friendship – Highway to Zhangmu at the Nepal-Tibet boarder for the immigration and custom procuder. Our Chinese Liaison Officers and transport will be meeting us here. We travel by bus or jeep and all our equipment going by truck. Normally we would expect to spend two days in Nyalam for acclimatisation before driving over the Langnna La (Pass) to old village of Tingri.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1527m/5000ft)

Day 2: In Kathmandu, Sight seeing and preparation for expedition.

Day 3: Drive to Zhangmu

Day 4: Travel to Nyalam 3,600 metres

Day 5: Rest Day at Nyalam

Day 6: Drive to Tingri 4,500 metres

Day 7: Drive to cho Oyu Base Camp 4,800 metres

Day 8 to 9: Base Camp

Day 10 to 11: Overnight Camp En-Route

Day 12 to 37: Cho Oyu Climbing period

Day 38: Lower Chinese Base Camp

Day 39: Tatopani

Day 40: Drive to Kathmandu

Day 41: Departure

Service Included:

  7. Per person’s (40 KG) Load is carried by the Yak till to the from BC to ABC
  8. Per person’s (30 KG) Load is carried by the Yak on the way back to the ABC to the Base camp
  9. Kathmandu – Zhangmu – Base Camp – Zhangmu (vice versa) are provided the Mini bus/Jeep for the members & Truck to carry the equipment.

  9. Garbage Deposit USD 250 (Sharing of the total person) Deposit fee will be not refund if clients (climber) don’t take back their garbage.
